Ellie Watt is consumed with revenge. She plans an elaborate scheme to trick her way into the inner circle of Travis, the criminal she blames for her life of pain. She focuses her attention on Javier as part of her scheme, but she most certainly does not plan on falling in love.
Simple story, right? In the hands of Karina Halle, it becomes a rich story of lust, of love and loss, sin and redemption, and trust and betrayal.
Ellie thinks she is control of her emotions but she falls fast and hard for Javier, and who wouldn’t? He is handsome, protective, and worships Ellie. He is also a member of a violent drug cartel.
“I want your heart, your soul and your body. I want the you that you’re hiding deep inside. I must have her.” – Javier
“I need you, my Angel. And I’ll do anything and everything to keep you.” – Javier
“He wasn’t good and he wasn’t bad. He was just Javier. And he was mine.” – Ellie
Ms. Halle has created some very memorable characters that will get under your skin and into your heart. I dreaded the ending of the book and can’t wait for Ellie’s story to continue in Shooting Scars (The Artists Trilogy #2) (expected May 13, 2013).
On Every Street is a prequel to Sins & Needles, but is itself a stand-alone story. You do not need to read Sins & Needles first. (But read it, it is one of my favorite books!)
