“Bromberg is the master of making hearts race and pulses pound.” -Jay Crownover, New York Times bestselling author

Then You Happened, an all-new “steamy and full of heart” standalone romance from New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg, is available now!

THEN-YOU-HAPPENED-KRISTY-BROMBERG

Jack Sutton was the man I didn’t want to need.

His know-it-all attitude. His annoying suggestions. His outlook on life.

He was determined to help me while I had resolved to figure it out on my own.

But he taught me things I’d forgotten.

How to trust. How to believe in myself. Who I was.

The problem?

I went and fell in love with him.

—

Tatum Knox was the disaster I should have walked away from.

Her ruined reputation. Her failing business. Her chaotic life.

She hated me at first sight and yet intrigued me all at the same time.

I was only supposed to be there six months.

I was supposed to use that time to make amends for things I’d done wrong.

Instead I fell in love with her.

—

They say it’s better to have loved and lost, then not to have loved at all. Does that hold true when the love is based on a lie to begin with?

(THEN YOU HAPPENED is a STANDALONE enemies to lovers, small town romance. Full-length at one hundred and seven thousand words)

Excerpt:

“I’ll tell you what, Desi Whitman. I think you’re a chicken. I think you hide behind your preconceived notions out of principle—or at least that’s what you label it, but fear is fear. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.” My hands still and my eyes meet his in the reflection of the window in front of me. “The question is, how bad do you want it? How bad do you want to see where this might go between us? A few nights of sex? A few dates? Anything. Something. When will you push yourself to think that it’s okay?”
“I already told you, I know who I am, and I know what I want out of life.”
“You did…but that’s before you met someone who changed that.”
I spin around and glare at him. He’s thinking too much into this. “Down, boy. It’s sex. One time. That’s it.”
“Two times,” he counters and lifts his eyebrows.
“Two?”
“Sweetheart, we may not have been touching, but you can’t deny we f*cked each other across this space.” He points to his house and back, but his eyes never leave mine. “You can call it semantics. You can say it didn’t happen, but I’ll fight you on that. Watching you was hotter than hell. You came for me. And next time you do, I’ll be buried in you.”
His words evoke too many things I don’t want to think about but can’t seem to avoid thinking of late.
“That’s presumptuous,” I say simply, because I have nothing else to say.
His chuckle is back and so is that look in his eye that’s part challenge, part predator. “You’re only pushing me away because you know it’s good—we’re good—and you’re afraid you’re only going to like it more.”
“Why are you here, Reznor?” I shove my hands on my hips so I don’t reach out and touch him.
I can see him question which answer he should give. The one we both know—that he wants to sleep with me again—or the underlying reason. “You didn’t show up to class again.”
“And I called Bear ahead of time and let him know that something came up. That way you knew, he knew—”
“Why not walk across the yard and tell me?”
“Because I was…” avoiding you. Wanting you. Needing to keep my distance from you.
His smile is half-cocked. “That’s what I thought.” He takes a step toward me. “You want me as much as I want you…”
“I don’t—”
He holds his finger against my lips and says, “Shhh.” Our eyes hold as every part of my body vibrates from his touch. “I’m not a patient man, Desi…except when it comes to things I think are worth it.”
“Reznor—”
“Tell Jeff you’re off the market.” My spine stiffens at his order. “Because you’re worth it.”
And then, of course, the aftereffects of Reznor Mayne hit me—the flutter, the swoon, and the sag—as a smile slides across his lips and he dips his chin before walking out the back door without looking back.
The man is infuriating.

Synopsis

This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words.

It’s a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you’ve seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I’m successful, if I’m able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.

But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number ten, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?

Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen.

But I don’t want a relationship. And I definitely don’t fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.

But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there’s an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.

And now that the contest is about to end, we’re left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all?

From New York Times Bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes the second standalone book in the Everyday Heroes series. Just how hot will firefighter Grady Malone turn up the heat?

MY REVIEW:

So emotional and sweet! You can always count on this author to deliver an adult and passionate romance with very real and very relatable main characters. Sexy Grady takes in a strictly platonic roommate named Dylan who is looking to escape the heartbreak of her cheating boyfriend. The problem? He’s a famous musician and she needs to finish writing their songs.

Poor Dylan! She’s the real talent behind the music but she doesn’t have the confidence to showcase her own talent. Grady gives her the confidence she’s been lacking and also really sees her as a beautiful woman, too. And Dylan shows Grady that he, too, is sexy and attractive despite his physical scars. Grady’s the real deal but Dylan’s been “burned” so to speak and doesn’t know how to get closer to Grady.

”There’s definitely something beneath the sexiness of Grady Malone. Question is, do I want to get invested enough to find out what?”

There’s a lovely twist here to the familiar contemporary romance story that I loved and that I think holds a very important message. Not only does Dylan find her voice but both she and Grady find a confidence that they both were lacking. And of course the sexy times are HOT!!

”His everyday service uniform is hot. His Class A’s are sexy. But this, his yellow turnouts with reflective tape, red suspenders, and no shirt on underneath are everything and then some. Perfection with a little bit of grit thrown in.”

‘Combust’ is a sexy standalone that is a quick and satisfying read. I loved how strong Dylan was and the very heartwarming epilogue.

“The heart’s blind. It’s the head that causes all the trouble.”

EXCERPT

Preoccupied with a text on my phone from my agent, I walk into the kitchen and suck in a breath when I come face to back with Grady. He’s standing with his hand on the refrigerator door, head leaned inside, and his back fully exposed to me. It’s broad and strong and scarred immeasurably.

I stare.

I can’t help it. The marks are a dizzying array of dark and light and ridged and smooth. And they’re undeniably burns. Goosebumps chase over my skin as I imagine the pain he must have endured when he got those. I think of his habit of wearing unbuttoned shirts but never going shirtless and the hint of scars just visible above his collar that I never could have imagined led to this roadmap to hell on his back.

A part of me instinctively wants to reach out to touch them, bring some kind of comfort. It sounds ridiculous, even to me, but that doesn’t abate the urge.

“Not pretty, huh? Get a good look while you can.” His voice is gruff as his spine stiffens and body stills, emotion woven through the words.

“Thank God not all of you is pretty. I was beginning to feel majorly insecure having to live with perfection like you,” I say off the cuff, trying to make this situation less awkward. My attempt to settle the sudden tension sparking in the air around us.

“Perfection?” he asks as he turns to face me with a smile that masks the emotion swirling in his eyes.

“Yeah. You have scars. I have mermaid thighs.”

“Mermaid thighs?” He laughs. “What in the world are you talking about?”

“Thighs that touch from the top all the way to my knees.” I shrug as if it doesn’t bug me, as if I’m not highlighting one of the insults Tara threw at me. It’s a whole lot easier to make fun of myself so long as it puts him at ease.

“Do you ever give yourself a break?”

“Do you?” I ask the question, sparking a silent battle of wills as we stare at each other and wonder what to say next about the other’s insecurities. Coming up empty, I shift gears. “I think there is some type of rule about how many abs are fair for a guy to have when the rest of us are just struggling to find one of them.”

His smile rings more genuine as he steps toward me, and I step back, my hips leaning against the counter now.

“Is that so?” His voice lowers as his eyes flick to my lips and then back up. “I’m sure you have some under your shirt there.”

Why does the simple action make it seem so hard to swallow?

He takes another step.

“What are you building outside?”

“A playroom.”

A nervous chuckle falls from my lips as I think of all of the versions of playrooms I’ve read about in my romance books. My cheeks stain red as I imagine Grady with a flogger in one hand standing beside a St. Andrew’s Cross.

“A playroom?”

“Yeah.” He takes a step closer so we’re breathing the same air, his voice husky enough to cause every part of my body to grow alert. “A playroom. You know . . . a pool table. Foosball. A real man cave.”

I exhale a shaky sigh, suddenly more than aware that he’s so close, shirtless, sweaty, and smelling like sun and soap mixed together. But it’s his eyes that make my thoughts falter. There’s an intensity to them I don’t expect from the perpetually cheerful Grady Malone.

“Ah, that kind of playroom . . .” But my words trail off as he steps even closer and braces his hands on the counter on either side of me. I can hear his intake of breath. The music floating in from outside. The pound of my pulse in my ears.

“Hey, Dyl?”

“Yes?” Our eyes hold, my lips fall lax.

“I need you to open up.”

“What?” I question as his hand brushes against my hip and his fingers pull on the drawer handle I’m standing in front of.

“I need the bottle opener. You’re standing in front of the drawer it’s in.” His lips spread into a full-fledged grin as I scramble away from the counter and, of course, run smack dab into the hardness, all six foot plus of him.

And then I rebound off him again in a flustered state that has him laughing and me stuttering. “Sorry. I wasn’t—I didn’t . . .” His arms hold on to my biceps to steady me, which prompts me to look up and meet his eyes.

“We need to stop meeting like this,” he murmurs, the heat of his breath hitting my lips.

“We do.” Brilliant, Dylan. Freaking brilliant response. “I’ve gotta . . . I’ve gotta get back to . . . to writing.”

Review: CUFFED (EVERYDAY HEROES #1) by K. BROMBERG

October 25, 2017

From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new series about three brothers, the job that calls them, and the women who challenge them.

“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.

Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.

But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.
What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?
***

 I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.

That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.

Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.

I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

My Review:

What a BEAUTIFUL story!! Love the first book in this new series. Ms. Bromberg certainly does not shy away from the tough issues.

“He brings calm to the chaos spinning out of control around me and withing me.”

‘Cuffed’ was a passionate, emotional and engaging story about two long-lost friends. Grant and Emerson were best friends many, many years ago. Something happened and Grant never saw Emerson again. Not until they were adults and she acts like she wants NOTHING to do with him. Yes, this is a book about second chances and a sexy cop – but it is also SO much more!

“I only live in the now. I only live in tomorrows. I can only cope with the future I make for myself.”

‘Cuffed’ is not a lighthearted story but it is very readable and as always, features an incredibly feisty and resilient heroine. I can always count on Kristy to create very real and very down-to-earth main characters. Emerson is all that and more. She struggled to overcome her painful past but sometimes we must never forget those awful experiences so that we can move forward in life.

This is definitely a sexy, exciting romance (Hello, Grant!!) but is it also a story of overcoming your past and living in the present. This is the first book in a series about three sexy brothers and I just love the concept of “Everyday Heroes.” Longtime fans of Kristy Bromberg will devour this book and new readers will love Grant and Emerson. I can’t wait for the next books in this series!

“Head up. Wings out. ”

After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.

Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.

But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.

With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything – Scout’s love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he’s never been able to overcome. The secret he’s never shared with anyone.

He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he’s hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

My Review:

Smoking hot conclusion to The Player!! Loved it. Filled with warmth, heat and plenty of angst. K. Bromberg is my go-to author for mature, emotional romances about real people dealing with real issues and facing them head-on. And ‘The Catch’ delivered on all counts.

I loved the in-depth look into the sport of baseball (but you do NOT need to be a fan of sports romances to love this story!) and the glimpse into the emotional highs and lows experienced by star athletes AND by their families and loved ones! The end of ‘The Player’ was a whopper of a cliffhanger (I won’t spoil it here!) and then BOOM! ‘The Catch’ does a 180 degree turn!

I appreciated Easton’s POV here and as always, Ms. Bromberg created a male character with many dimensions. Easton is flawed, but he really puts himself out there and his HONESTY is what I loved most about him. Easton and Scout both grew as characters and their love, devotion to family and feelings for each other were absolutely spot-on.

“I love you.”
And right there- three simple fucking words and I’m a dead man. A total goner to this woman who is a mess of contradictions and who unexpectedly stole my heart along the way.

At times I was SO aggravated by Scout and Easton’s families that I was ready to just reach into the book and shake them! BUT this story, while managing to be smoking-hot and sexxxy, was also about much more: friends, family, honesty and loyalty. And being true to yourself. There were some major twists in this book that solved a lot of questions and the gorgeous Epilogue was EVERYTHING!

“I want you. All of you. Your flaws. Your mistakes. Your achievements. Your shortcomings. Your love.”

I also loved how intelligent and spirited Scout was. She didn’t give her heart away easily and she was no push-over. Ms. Bromberg always writes very real heroines who have setbacks and fears and insecurities just like the rest of us.

Now both books in the duet are out so you can read both back to back if you haven’t yet picked up ‘The Player.’ The conclusion to Scout and Easton’s story made my heart race and while I am sorry to say goodbye to these two, the ending to this duet was perfect.

“Clear mind. Full heart.”

With thanks to the author for an ARC of ‘The Catch.’

Review – THE PLAYER by K. BROMBERG

April 17, 2017

Synopsis:

Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.

Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.

So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather, his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.

Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.

And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to maintain the club’s best interest, in regards to whether he’s ready to play.

But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat, or is one of them bound to get burned?

My Review:

“You’re nothing like I expected.”

“I’m never what anyone expects. It’s a blessing and a curse.”

YES!! ‘The Player’ is a sweet-hot sports romance that hits all the bases! The author really knows the game of baseball and it SHOWS. And this might have THE best Dedication Page I’ve ever read. Ms. Bromberg knocked it out of the park with this story. Even if you’re not a fan of sports romance, you’ll LOVE this book. Helllloooo, Easton Wylder!!

This book is a perfect example of the great things that can come from an author writing what s/he knows. The author’s knowledge and understanding of the competitiveness and drive that athletes must have to succeed really shines through in every page. I devoured this smoldering, sexy story and cannot wait for more. There’s a cliffhanger but it is not a total shocker, so I am very content to wait for the continuation of Easton and Scout’s story.

Easton, a brilliant baseball player, is a member of a famed baseball family. He struggles to get back in the game after an injury. And he also struggles to live up to the expectations of his demanding father, a legendary player.

Scout knows a thing or two about living up to the family name. Her father is also legendary, a renowned sports medicine figure. And, as a woman working in a male-dominated field, she must constantly fight to prove herself.

Easton is her patient but she has ZERO interest in him and knows that is a professional boundary she can never cross. Of course she gets the wrong impression of Easton and stereotypes him as a real “player”, but once she gets to know the man behind the cocky facade, she is completely surprised.

“He’s good with kids. And with dogs. And with his sick mom. And with spooked women. Is there anything this man can do to make me not like him?

Because I’m beginning to think he might need to do that, so I don’t start believing he hung the moon. Or stole my heart.”

The author has a way of creating characters that are memorable, very REAL and very flawed. ‘The Player’ is without question my favorite book since ‘The Driven’ series. Easton and Scout are brilliant in their own fields, lonely, driven and afraid to open their hearts. I felt a real connection between the two MC’s which is essential to my enjoyment of any romance. This book seems to have been written from straight the heart and has tons of warmth, emotion and of course H-O-T sexy times.

Don’t wait for ‘The Scout’ to enjoy this book! A must-read for any contemporary romance lover.

Favorite quote:

“I’ve played on grass my whole life, Scout. There’s no need for me to see what’s out there when it’s green beneath my feet.”

My Review:

Ahhh, is there anything sweeter than second-chance love? I think not! K. Bromberg once again delivers with this sexy-sweet, second-chance love story with all new characters. The settings, the story, the characters…I simply fell in love with Hayes and Saylor!!

The author is one of my top go-to contemporary romance authors and ‘Sweet Cheeks’ is a perfect example of her easy, romantic and sexy writing style.

Saylor recently called off her engagement and is shocked when she receives an invitation to her former fiancee’s wedding. She is a smart, driven businesswoman who owns her own bakery. What is she to do? While not one to engage in unnecessary drama, she finds herself in an unusual “situation” after her assistant accidentally replies that she will be attending the wedding. With a guest!

She is convinced to attend the destination wedding and to bring as her “plus-1” her old love, Hayes Whitely. Oh but guess what: he is now a Hollywood superstar, having abandoned Saylor years ago without a word when he left for Hollywood. Why on earth would she even consider this crazy idea?! But Hayes is VERY convincing and off they go to the tropics. A part of Saylor does want to show off to her ex, but she realizes that she could wind up getting her heart stomped on in a big way.

Hayes may be a well-known actor, but Saylor was his true love. Can he ever make amends for what he did, and win back Sailor’s trust? And love?

Even at the age of seventeen, Hayes could kiss in a way that made me feel like I’d just laid every part of my soul on the line when his lips left mine.

If you are looking for a breezy, sexy, adult romance with a strong heroine and a sweet and sexy hero who just won’t give up (and who happens to be the best friend of the heroine’s brother!!), then ‘Sweet Cheeks’ is for you!

The way I see it, sometimes things happen in life and love’s put on hold. But if someone’s your soulmate, nothing is going to stop you from together in the end.

She’s a mixture of most of her female characters: sassy, intelligent, stubborn, reserved, outgoing, driven, emotional, strong, and wears her heart on her sleeve. All of which she displays daily with her husband and three children where they live in Southern California.

On a whim, K. Bromberg decided to try her hand at this writing thing. Since then she has written The Driven Series (Driven, Fueled, Crashed, Raced, Aced), the standalone Driven Novels (Slow Burn, Sweet Ache, Hard Beat, and Down Shift), and a novella (UnRaveled). She is currently finishing up Sweet Cheeks a standalone novel out November 14th.

Her plans for 2017 include a sports romance duet (2 books: The Player, The Catch) and the Everyday Heroes series (3 books: Cuffed, Combust, and Cockpit). She’s also writing a novella for the 1,001 Dark Night series that will be out in February 2017.
