I have spent my entire life fighting. Fighting for survival. Fighting my past. Fighting to keep anyone from getting to close. Until him. Theodore Ellis.
He’s my light in the darkness. The only person who makes me truly feel. My most unlikely of saviours. No matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to fight him.
No matter how many blows I rain down on him, he remains, loyal and unmoving. I love him. I need him.
Theo is my vulnerability, the chink in my armour, but he is also my strength. I can’t fight him anymore.
The past only holds as much power as you allow it to. It’s time to tell my story. It’s time to bare my soul, and let Theo in to my dark world. It’s time to take back my power.
Love is a war. She who dares wins.
I’m ready to risk it all. I’m ready to surrender.
What an emotional ride! As a huge fan of this series, I could not wait to dive in to the conclusion of Theo and Lilly’s story. These two have been through it all, but Theo, the consummate playboy, has really proved to be loyal and loving and thank God for that! Lilly’s horrific past is finally revealed in detail here, so now you can see why she has literally run for the hills every time someone tried to get close to her heart.
“Love. It’s the strongest of bonds, and the greatest of vulnerabilities.”
Lilly is a strong survivor, and this installment in the series is not for the faint of heart. But stick it out, the rewards are great! I fell in love with Theo all over again, and I have a girl-crush on Lilly. There is suspense, emotion, steamy sexy times and great dialogue in Surrendered. Lilly has finally given her heart to Theo but she still must endure the pain of having her bother Harry pay for the sins of the past. At times, I was very worried Lilly would flee from Theo and all that he offered, but the author gives us an incredibly satisfying conclusion to a wonderful story.
”You make me feel Theo, and I haven’t allowed myself to feel anything, good or bad for a long time. I just wanted to be numb. You terrify me, but you thrill me at the same time.”
I love Lilly’s bother Harry and the fierce loyalty they feel toward each other. I would really love to read more from Harry and hope that he gets his own story some day! (*hint hint*). And Hugo. Well, let’s just say I am waiting with baited breath for his story, too, I know it will be a fantastic ride.
This is a passionate, messy, lively, sexy story, and there is even some humor thrown in, too. I loved this book and although I will miss Lilly and Theo terribly, I am looking forward to much more from this incredibly talented writer!!
