This is Reyna and Liam’s story. It is clear from the beginning of that Reyna has suffered terrible heartbreak and the pieces of her past slowly come together throughout the story. I absolutely loved the steamy scenes between Reyna and Liam and also adored the surprising insight into the mother-daughter relationship. There is obviously something causing an issue between Reyna and her mom and the revelation and resolution was quite a surprise to me.
“Life is a gift, Reyna. Mistakes happen.” My mother says, finally. Her blue eyes and fair skin shimmer from the overhead lamp light as she attempts to drive her point into me. “We can’t control life anymore than we can control the hands of time. They both continue without our intervention.”
I loved Liam as the main character here but also adored Hayden and his relationship with Reyna. While he ultimately wasn’t good for her, their journey was their own and I truly felt heartbroken for his own personal struggles.
But make no mistake, this is Reyna and Liam’s story. From the beginning, I knew they were irrevocably bound but I did not know if Reyna could ultimately overcome her issues with self-respect and her inability to to open up to others.
“You saw me better than I ever saw myself and you pushed me back. Just when everyone else would give up, you would push through. I want to be everything you see in me. I want my insides to match my outsides…perfectly imperfect…just as long as it’s with you.”
NOT THE ONE is overall a very sexy and emotional book. The story took me by surprise and it is a refreshingly creative story. I love Amy Daws’ writing style and look forward to reading more of her books!

That’s not an answer.
LOL…Let me be “frank” when I tell you…it is a distinct possibility. 😉
