Ellen’s Review:

This is a very adult, very sensual and erotic story, with wonderful writing. James is an incredibly memorable character, controlling, secretive, brilliantly talented, and Karina really comes into her own in this story.

I loved how Karina stood strong with James while she travels to take care of her mother after her mother has an accident. I also loved the side story involving her mother’s boyfriend, Jill, and the various family issues. But it is the chemistry and the scenes between Karina and James that are thrilling and incredibly erotic and really make this a novel that is a step above most erotica out there now.

Karina is also funny and I loved some of the light-hearted moments in the book. They lightened up some of the heavier emotional scenes. This is a fantastic series if you love super-steamy stories with strong, dominant males and really great writing. This is not a heavy BDSM book and the characters are all well-written and memorable. I absolutely loved the ending and I cant wait to read more from this author.

“I assure you you’re wrong about that. Well, if the performance were tomorrow, maybe. But we have a few months, Karina, and I’ll be expecting you to work with a trainer every day. I need to get back in shape myself.” He stretched one arm toward the far window and unfurled his hand elegantly, probably thinking about dance exercises. “I haven’t danced or sung since the night we met.”
“Have you missed it?”
“I have, a little. I don’t miss the grind, though. I don’t miss having to keep up the facade all the time. I never realized how exhausting it was until I stopped.” He leaned over to kiss me on the cheek. “I’m an incredibly lucky bastard.”
“Are you?”
“Yes, because if I had let my guard down for anyone but you, it would have ended in a ball of flames.”
“It nearly did anyway.”
“But it didn’t, because of you. Because of the wonderfulness of you. You’re special, Karina.” He offered me the bottle again and I took another sip. “How much longer do you think you’ll be in Ohio?”
“I’m not sure. My aunt Tera called today to announce she’s showing up tomorrow to stay for two weeks. If that’s true, I won’t have to stay.” I did have to get back to the city. To deal with my landlord and the university and who knew what else.
James was looking at me thoughtfully.
“What? What is it?”
He smiled. “I’m just noticing how many strong, independent women you seem to have in your life.”
“Well, I don’t know if I’d count my mother as strong . . . though it seems like she picked up a backbone in the hospital!”
“She raised you and your siblings on her own. I’d say she can probably lay claim to independence if she wants.”
“True. And her opinions are never weak. Those are always quite strong.” I glanced in the direction of the house. “I guess I should be getting back.”
“Well, if you think you’ll be staying more than a few days, I’ll contract a dance trainer for you here, to start getting ready for the performances.” He folded one of my hands into his. “That is, if you agree to my proposal. You still haven’t said yes.”
Of course he would notice that. “I think it’s questionable I’m good enough to get on stage with you. Maybe you ought to have someone besides yourself look at me. I don’t think you’re exactly an impartial judge.”
“And you’re far more talented than you think. How about this? We’ll hold an audition for principal dancer. I won’t tell the judges who you are. We’ll let them give their opinions. The final decision will still be up to me, of course, but you can get an honest evaluation of where you stand in relation to others. If they think you look ridiculous, they’ll say so without hesitation.”
I slipped my shoes on. “All right. When?”
“Let’s say in a month. That’ll give you time to prepare.”
“Okay. I mean, yes. That sounds like a plan.” I slipped my arms around his neck and kissed him. “Now, are you and Stefan planning to sit out here all night?”
“I defer to Stefan on our security plans. If there is any hint of trouble, though, promise me, Karina, that you’ll contact us immediately.”
“Yes, of course.”
“Good. Then you should probably sneak back into the house.”
I kissed him on the forehead and grinned. “You know, I never did this when I was a teenager.”
“Did what?”
“Sneak out of the house after my mother was asleep to have sex in a guy’s car.” I kissed him on the mouth then. “Something tells me it was worth the wait.”

Vanquish was not at all what I expected and is a painfully beautiful story of the redemptive power of love and devotion. Yes, I LOVE Van, and for those of you who have read Deliver, you know that he is twisted, really f*ed up and obsessively, possessively in love with Liv. He seemed BAD through and through but I knew better! I couldn’t wait to read his story because I knew there was much more to him.

Vanquish totally blew me away. It is really a story of two painfully lonely people who really only want to connect with another human being on the most basic of levels. But this being a Pam Godwin story, well, you get two very effed up people, tons of mind-blowing sex, and lots of danger thrown into the mix.

Pam Godwin’s writing is pure perfection. There is no insta-connection, the emotions are real and the sexual chemistry is explosive. This book has it all. And Amber broke my heart. I am a huge Pam Godwin fan and I will devour every book she writes. Vanquish is raw, gritty, beautiful, suspenseful, sexy and painful. What more could you possibly ask for?

This dark and fantastic story completely and utterly thrilled me and captivated me from the very first page. Our heroine Nila is a successful fashion designer, although she has led a somewhat sheltered life (which actually plays quite nicely into the storyline). On the night of her big runway show, she encounters Jethro Hawk and she senses immediately that her life will change. And does it ever.

“That was my last day of freedom. The last day that was my own.”

As a huge Pepper Winters fan, I absolutely loved this mind-f* of a story and the dark elements did not disturb me, but only enthralled me. It seems as though the demanding Jethro has no redeeming qualities, but I feel there are hints of much more to come about this mysterious man in the future installments. He fascinated me. The story is quite twisty and yes, somewhat fantastical, but this is a true page-turner, no doubt about it.

“One mistake six hundred years ago put a curse on her entire family. One mistake sold her life to me in a mountain of unpayable debt. I inherited her. I preyed on her. I owned her life and had the piece of paper to prove it.”

I absolutely loved this book and urge you to give it a try. Yes, there is a cliffhanger but the story is so well-written, it is truly one of a kind ad not to be missed.

Another sexy, fast-paced novel with heart from Vi Keeland! I have devoured every book in this series and I fell in love with Jax, too. I cannot believe this is the end of the series!! With that said, this is technically a standalone but I HIGHLY recommend the first two books in this series, Nico and Vince will absolutely blow you away.

Jax first appeared in Worth the Chance (MMA #2). The author seamlessly transitions into Jax’s story and I loved seeing the events from Book 2 from his POV. He is hurting and reeling from some shocking, life-changinge news when he first meets Lilly. She is the co-owner of a gym and is trying to get out of a somewhat abusive and very unhealthy relationship with Caden, the nephew of her father’s business partner.

Oh Jax. Ms. Keeland has written another swoon, gorgeous, tough-but-sensitve fighter. Make no mistake, he is well-mannered and polite and a smart businessman, but he longs to fight in the ring and boy, is he a dirty-talker! The sex scenes are SMOKING hot, as only Vi Keeland can write, and burn up the pages.

“I’m not a man who’s easily deterred when there’s something I want either”

There is also some humor and light-hearted moments in between the dramatic storyline.

“You’re incredibly distracting.Don’t you have someone to beat up or some tycooning to do?”

The supporting cast was also very strong, and I usually often skim over parts of a book with the secondary characters. Not here. Reed and Joe were an integral part of the story and I loved them.

This final book in the series is hot and sexy and fast-paced and has plenty of romance. I highly recommend Worth Forgiving as well as the first two books in this series.

Excerpt: Meet Jax and Lily

Dinner and a dirty mouth
My face pinks when the waiter clears his throat, no doubt he’d heard Jax’s last comment.
“Are you ready to hear the specials?”
“Are we?” Jax arches an eyebrow, his eyes gleaming with delight. He’s not the slight bit embarrassed, but knows I am and is quite enjoying himself.
“Yes. Please.” I give him the evil eye and force my full attention back to the waiter. The entire time the waiter talks about the specials I feel Jax’s eyes burning into me.
“I’ll give you a moment to let you decide.” Graciously, the waiter excuses himself.
“Why did you do that?” I scold, my voice low.
“Do what?” He leans back in his seat, crossing his arms over his thick chest.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
“Do I?”
“You enjoy watching me flustered, don’t you?”
Jax arches both eyebrows. Bad choice of words.
“You know what I mean.”
Leaning in, his voice gritty and sexy, he looks me straight in the eyes when he speaks. “I love watching you. Period. But what I like best is watching you pretend you’re unaffected. It’s like an unspoken challenge.” He pauses and leans in even closer. “I love the pink that creeps up your cheeks when I say something dirty. The way your pussy throbs when I mention what I’m going to do to you later, and you wiggle in your seat trying to control it. So yeah, I guess I do like watching you flustered. I look at the waiter, then Jax, who arches an eyebrow with a knowing smirk on his face, then back to the waiter. “The specials all sounded delicious. I just can’t decide for myself. I’m going to defer to my date to pick one for me.” I return my eyes to Jax with a cheeky grin.
He throws his head back with a chuckle and looks at the poor confused waiter. “We’ll take whatever two are your favorites. Surprise us.”

Tillie Cole is a very gifted writer and this story is fascinating, heartbreaking, beautiful, funny, tender and wonderfully written. This is not exactly your typical jock-meets-Goth-girl story, it is much richer and more nuanced than that, and I really recommend you give this book a try.

You do not need to have read the other books in the series (I did not but I plan to read them now) to follow Lexi and Austin’s story. Austin is the star player on the University of Alabama’s football team, and Lexi is part of the cheerleading squad. But he is also a tattooed, former gang member struggling to break free from his past. She, too, has her own painful struggles that are handled with incredible sensitivity and care by Tillie Cole.

There were many times during this book that I was afraid something terrible would happen to Austin or Lexi, and I read the story with my heart pounding. Austin is a beautiful boy inside and out and showed great compassion and caring for others, all hidden beneath his tattooed, tough-guy exterior. Lexi struggles to keep it together, even as all others see is an offbeat but talented cheerleader on a very tough college squad.

Sweet Fall is very much about not judging a book by its cover and not expecting others to conform to your idea of of “perfect”. Acceptance, of both yourself and of others, is the message I took from this story and I applaud the author for writing about a very difficult and painful subject. I highly recommend Sweet Fall and I can guarantee you will fall in love with Austin Carillo!

It took me less than two minutes to see movement from behind the Denny Chimes, the large tower in the quad, protected by the shade of trees. A tweaking-looking kid scurried past me, stuffing a small white packet into his cargo shorts. I kept my head down so he wouldn’t recognize me, but I saw what he’d just bought.

Closing my eyes, I took a long, deep breath.
“Austin?” Levi questioned, and I felt his eyes focused on me. “You good?”
Opening my eyes, I pulled him close by gripping his two-sizes-too-big shirt. “When did you start dealing with the crew?” I hissed out, and Levi took a huge fuckin’ gulp, the blood draining from his face.
Levi’s gray eyes darted back to Axel, who was walking toward another group of guys heading in our direction. Great. More frat boys looking for a fix, a fix from my fuckin’ doppelganger… at my school!
Yanking Levi back, I placed us behind the protection of a tree, way outta sight. I couldn’t be seen dealing or even be associated with dealers, or my scholarship would be revoked on the spot. The dean was already suspicious. Hell, he never even wanted me in his school. It was Coach’s persistence and Rome Prince’s demands that had him caving in. Checking that we were hidden, I shook Levi, who was busy staring at the ground, by the collar. “Levi! When the hell did you get recruited to deal coke?” I hissed.
“‘Bout a month ago,” he admitted reluctantly.
“A month,” I stated in disbelief.
A goddamn fuckin’ month.
He nodded, and I gripped his head in my hands. “Fuck, Levi. Why? I told you never to go down that road. Do easy shit for the crew, that’s fine. But not this! You’re a born wide receiver like me, but you gotta get your grades, focus on school to get in here at UA. The crew, Lev, the motherfuckin’ crew! Gio won’t ever let you leave. Ain’t no way we’re both getting out!”
Levi pulled back and rested his back against the tree, arms folded over his chest in defiance, a scowl firmly on his face. “Mamma’s getting worse, Aust. Medicare ain’t cutting it no more. We wanna keep her pain free, we need to pay for it. She needs a frame all the time now too. She hasn’t left the trailer in weeks. Can’t walk without shaking and falling to a heap on the floor.”
Levi’s eyes filled with tears, and my throat clogged up tight at the sight. The kid was fourteen. four-fuckin’-teen. He shouldn’t be concerning himself with paying for medical bills, selling drugs, or taking care of Mamma.
“And why the fuck has this been hidden from me?” I asked through gritted teeth, my jaw aching from the pressure.
Levi dropped his head. “Mamma never wanted you to know. Said you had enough to worry about. And I knew you wouldn’t approve of me being in with the Heighters.”
And hell if that didn’t make me feel like shit.

Hopeful is book 2 in a series but it can definitely be read as a standalone. Ava and Joel connect in university. Although they have the same group of friends, they had never really hung out together. Everyday library sessions turn into them falling for each other, but Ava has issues of “going public”. Something happens that makes Joel leave and they don’t talk or see each other again eight years.

This story is written with the use of flashbacks. Although I am usually not a huge fan of a book with so much flipping back and forth between past and present, I absolutely loved Joel as well as the supporting characters of Daniel and Leah. I certainly would love to read more about them! I also enjoyed the author’s writing style.

Ava in the present was a little aggravating and I don’t want to spoil anything other than to say that she had lots of insecurities which kept her from really having what she truly wanted. All in all, this was a very captivating story and I am looking forward to reading more from Louise Bay.

LOVE Nix!! I read a lot of biker books so I was totally surprised when I finished Incandescent and loved it! Kadence is a schoolteacher and never expects to fall for the oh-so-hot Nix who is the parent of one of her students. He is a bad-ass biker with a heart of gold, trying his best to parent his son Z with a no-good ex-wife who is always causing problems.

Kadence has dealt with a lot of past pain (both physical and emotional) and the last thing she expects is to fall for Nix. But the man is persistent and can’t stay away from the sexy teacher.

“I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind, woman. Your attitude, your body, from the moment I had you on the back of my bike, I knew I was in trouble. You feel it too, Kadence. I know you do. Stop denyin’ it.”

These two have tons of chemistry but there are some obstacles in their way. For one thing, Nix is the parent of Kadence’s student, and the school has a no-dating policy between parents and teachers. Add to that one crazy ex-wife, and an even crazier (and more dangerous) ex of Kadence’s and you have lots of fast-paced drama and totally HOT sexy times. This book takes dirty-talking to a new level, and River Savage has quite the talent at writing absolutely SIZZLING sex scenes!

This is a fast-paced, hot biker romance with a lot of heart. I loved Kadence and Nix and adored how Nix got Kadence to open up to him.

River Savage is an incredibly talented writer and I look forward to reading the next books in this series!

Resting the cold beer between my legs to
soothe the ache, the boys give me shit for striking out. I feel the same way:
the woman is a tough nut to crack.

“You ready for round two, Prez?” Beau
smirks behind his beer. Turning my head, I watch as Kadence storms over. I
groan as my broken dick comes to life, apparently not caught up with the news
that she doesn’t like him. She stands at the end of the table, arms crossed

MY REVIEW:

4.5 Stars!!

I love books told by a different character’s POV so I immediately loved the story as told by Alexandre. Even if you’ve read The Pearl Trilogy, PEARL is still full of surprises. And if you loved Alexandre before, you will absolutely fall in love with him a little more after reading his story!

There is no glossing over the age difference between Pearl and Alexandre. I LOVED reading how Alexandre was insanely attracted to Pearl and how he actively pursued her. This is a very different twist on the usual contemporary romance story. I also loved reading Alexandre’s perspective on the real reason Pearl was in the coffee shop on the day they met.

Although you don’t have to read The Pearl Trilogy first, you will have a clearer picture of the characters and where they fit in the series. Plus they are great books!

There’s lots of smoking hot sex in Pearl plus an ending that will leave you anxiously awaiting the next installment of this story. I can’t wait to read Part Two of Alexandre’s story!
