5+++ stars for The Mistress! This is an incredibly rich and completely satisfying conclusion to the Original Sinners series. All of the characters are brought together in The Mistress and their rich and complex stories are told in a very clever and gripping way. I can’t do justice to a book that is so masterfully written and so filled with erotic and sensual images that I literally could not put it down.

You must read The Original Sinners series first so that you will be familiar with the intricate and complex histories of the gorgeous and fierce characters created by Tiffany Reisz. In The Mistress, Nora is forced to recount stories of her past with Kingsley and Soren.

You’re my favorite monster, she said against his lips.

She felt pleasure with other men, ecstasy even sometimes…but only when Soren was inside her did she feel whole.

Soren and Kingsley spring into action to rescue Nora and both recall their memories of their relationship with Nora and with each other.

Soren could not live in a world without Nora. Kingsley could not live in a world without Soren.

Wesley also rushes to help rescue Nora, along with Zachary’s wife, Grace. Soren’s niece Laila also forms an important part of the author’s elaborate story of love, submission and erotica, a story that does not contain one false move or one unimportant character.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers but suffice it to say that Tiffany Reisz has created a brilliant cast of characters and a story that will challenge you, thrill you and leave you breathless with anticipation. I was on the edge of my seat while reading The Mistress, hoping that Soren and Nora’s unbreakable bond would get then through this latest crisis.

The fire of her teenage infatuation with Soren had burned itself out years ago. In its flames a love made of iron had been forged. It could survive any blow, any trial.

The ending of this story was incredibly emotionally satisfying, and perfect for each character. The Mistress is a brilliant ending to an absolutely amazing series.

The Finding Anna series is one of the most lyrical and addictive BDSM – romance series I have ever read. If you have been thinking about reading Slave and Need, the first two books in the Finding Anna series, please read them now because TRUTH is an absolutely breathtaking story.

In Truth, Brianna is slowly healing from her earlier brutal confinement, but is far from free of the emotional scars inflicted on her by Ian, her cruel Master. Although Stephan has become her ultimate protector, he is after all still a Dom and he must be extremely cautious in furthering their Dom/ sub relationship. Brianna also worries what their friends and acquaintances will think about their very unusual relationship, but Stephan does everything, and I mean everything, in his power to help her learn to trust again.

Things REALLY heat up between Stephan and Brianna in Truth. This is a beautiful and explicit exploration of the nature of a Dominant and submissive relationship. The author has created some very, very erotic scenes between Stephan and Brianna, but even though Stephan’s feelings for Brianna are quite clear, she fears that she will not be strong enough to sustain a loving relationship with him.

Stephan is one swoon-worthy Dom! He takes great pride in helping Brianna and loves that even the simplest things in life bring her extreme happiness. The story also has some danger and lots of thrilling elements with the presence of Brianna’s father as well as Stephan’s efforts to bring Brianna’s former sadistic master, Ian, to justice.

Yes, there is a very sudden and shocking conclusion to Truth. The story is so rich and well-crafted that I can’t wait to see where Ms. Hayes takes Stephan and Brianna next. Truth is a must-read book and I can’t wait to read more from Sherri Hayes.

Review: Being Me (Inside Out Trilogy) by Lisa Renee Jones

Review:

This will be a short, spoiler-free review, because I want everyone to enjoy the book as much as I did.

Being Me begins immediately where If I Were You concluded (which is a must-read). Did Chris or Mark have a role in Rebecca’s disappearance? Who is following Sara? Chris immediately takes charge (in many ways!) at the beginning of Being Me and helps Sara in the search for Rebecca, but also forbids her from reading Rebecca’s journals. Sara has issues with following his orders and it becomes very clear that her past is going to rear its ugly head and jeopardize her current relationship with Chris.

Being Me hooked me with its rich characters and very explicit sex scenes. Sara, Chris, Mark (Sara’s boss) and Rebecca all came alive for me, and I could not put this book down. I absolutely loved Mark and loved the attraction between his character and Sara:

“I would never put my pleasure, or my pain, for that matter, ahead of your needs, Sara.”

There are many questions answered in Being Me, but I was still shocked at some parts. Make sure to read Rebecca’s Lost Journals 1 through 4 before Being Me; although you don’t have to, you should, and they are wonderful companions to the series.

Being Me is a fantastic addition to this series, and yes, I had a book hangover after it was over! I can’t wait for Revealing Us in September.

Review:
We see an immediate continuation of Isabel and Dylan’s story in The
Art of Control. Isa has developed in her progress as a submissive, and
Dylan’s feelings have only deepened for her:

“When her eyes met mine, I know without a doubt that I would do
anything for her, anything. She owns me, too, and there’s no denying
it.”

Dylan has to learn to become open and honest with Isabel and it is the
one thing that could drive a wedge between them. There is a lot of mayhem that develops around them, and they must be strong in order to survive all the craziness.

The alternating POV’s continue in Book 3 which made me feel totally connected with all of the characters. Dylan is sexy, funny, protective and tender and I love him as a character. I read this book slowly because I did not want it to end! Hopefully the author will develop one of the sexy characters in Book 3 (no spoilers!) because I want to read more of his story.

Review:
The Art of Domination (Book 2) continues Isa and Dylan’s story and delves deeper into their emotional and physical relationship.

“As for this ‘vanilla with a twist’ crap, how do we go about fixing
that?” – Isabel

These characters both carry a lot of baggage, and there are several times in the book that I thought the end was near. Dylan takes certain actions that are very frustrating, but both he and Isa really develop and grow in Book 2. The author continues to thrill us with some deliciously hot sex scenes:

“Yes, Sir, I do. I want what you want,” I say to him…I want this for
Dylan just as much as I want this for myself.”

Even though they are in a D/s relationship, Isabel comes to realize that Dylan also needs taking care of, and this realization adds flavor to the story. The author does a great job of introducing other characters, and exploring their backstories as well.

Along with the deliciously hot sex scenes, there are several unexpected plot twists that will surprise and thrill you. I’m glad I had The Art of Control (Book 3) to read immediately after finishing The Art of Domination!

Review:
I am sorry I did not read this book when it was first released. I kept gazing at the gorgeous book cover on my Kindle…and I’m so glad I took the plunge into this series. Once I began reading, I could not stop! I devoured the books back-to-back. Each book in this series also contains the most beautiful artwork, credited to Rebekkah Ivacson, which is an added bonus to each story.

Book 1 introduces us to Isabel and Dylan, the tortured artist and the wealthy businessman. But their story is most definitely NOT cliché, and the characters will grab you from the beginning.

Dylan immediately feels a connection with Isabel because of her kindheartedness and her artistic talent:

“No one has ever kissed me like this, with so much passion and
kindness.” – Dylan

Isabel is of course both doubtful and surprised that Dylan is attracted to her but he immediately recognizes her beauty and her amazing talent.

“Oh, and for whatever you have planned for me for tonight, thank you
for that, too. Just in case I forget to tell you later.” – Isabel

I absolutely love the alternating POV’s and felt a connection from the very beginning with both characters, which is essential to me in a good story. The author has created a page-turning storyline to go along with the BDSM theme in Book 1, along with some blazing hot sex
scenes.

There is also a certain light-heartedness woven throughout this book. Along with the very sexy and protective Dylan, what’s not to love?

Mafia Captive by Kitty Thomas

The gift soon becomes a burden as he fights with himself over how to handle the addition to his home. He could release her, but his brother doesn’t do loose ends. The only thing keeping her out of the bottom of the harbor is Leo’s mercy. She’s like a beautiful piece of art he keeps in a glass case but can never touch. Is possessing her enough?

I love Kitty Thomas! The disclaimer alone kills me:

I could not put this book down once I started reading it! Even though this story has the usual darkly erotic themes found in Kitty’s other books, Mafia Captive actually has more of a love story than some of her other stories.

Once our Faith almost literally lands in Leo’s lap, he struggles mightily with making her his sexual slave. She is young and very innocent. But Leo discovers that he might not be such a demon after all, as he tries to find a way to keep her alive and safe:

“I’m not going to fuck you for a while. Be a good girl and you have nothing to fear from me. And…you’re allowed to speak.”

I really wanted to dislike Leo, but I became totally enamored of him. He is handsome, sexy and very, very twisted. Kitty weaves an incredible story and I love the rich cast of characters she creates in Mafia Captive. She is a very gifted storyteller and whether you love or hate Leo, you will love this very dark and very sexy BDSM-themed book. Another great and twisty story from the mind of Kitty Thomas.

Access Restricted (The Access Series) by Alice Severin

Access Restricted, the sequel to Access All Areas, picks up with Tristan Hunter, gorgeous rock star, and Lily Taylor, rock journalist, as she accompanies him on his comeback tour to London. This book explores the perils of fame and superstardom as people close to both of them try to tear them apart. (Plus Lily has her own insecurities to deal with.)

We are in a total book hangover after finishing his book. My heart was in my throat and I felt totally drained while reading most of this book! I absolutely love Tristan and I loved the author’s exploration of behind the scenes in the rock world and in the music industry. Alive Severin has the most gorgeous writing style, I enjoyed every word.

I don’t know how Ms. Severin does her research but she really puts the reader right in the middle of the journalism and music industry. She is an incredible storyteller.

I loved getting inside Lily’s head and was yelling at her not not be so insecure. Tristan is an incredible character, a sensitive, tortued musician.

This is really a story of betrayal, trust and forgiveness, I loved the journey that Alice Severin took us on with this book. Almost everyone we meet in the book (except for a few people) has an ulterior motive.

LOVED the sex scenes; they are HOT. There is a very powerful connection between Tristan and Lily. I did not want this book to end. It is going on my top 10 of 2013. And it’s only January!

We can’t wait for Book Three.
