Another sexy, fast-paced novel with heart from Vi Keeland! I have devoured every book in this series and I fell in love with Jax, too. I cannot believe this is the end of the series!! With that said, this is technically a standalone but I HIGHLY recommend the first two books in this series, Nico and Vince will absolutely blow you away.

Jax first appeared in Worth the Chance (MMA #2). The author seamlessly transitions into Jax’s story and I loved seeing the events from Book 2 from his POV. He is hurting and reeling from some shocking, life-changinge news when he first meets Lilly. She is the co-owner of a gym and is trying to get out of a somewhat abusive and very unhealthy relationship with Caden, the nephew of her father’s business partner.

Oh Jax. Ms. Keeland has written another swoon, gorgeous, tough-but-sensitve fighter. Make no mistake, he is well-mannered and polite and a smart businessman, but he longs to fight in the ring and boy, is he a dirty-talker! The sex scenes are SMOKING hot, as only Vi Keeland can write, and burn up the pages.

“I’m not a man who’s easily deterred when there’s something I want either”

There is also some humor and light-hearted moments in between the dramatic storyline.

“You’re incredibly distracting.Don’t you have someone to beat up or some tycooning to do?”

The supporting cast was also very strong, and I usually often skim over parts of a book with the secondary characters. Not here. Reed and Joe were an integral part of the story and I loved them.

This final book in the series is hot and sexy and fast-paced and has plenty of romance. I highly recommend Worth Forgiving as well as the first two books in this series.

Excerpt: Meet Jax and Lily

Dinner and a dirty mouth
My face pinks when the waiter clears his throat, no doubt he’d heard Jax’s last comment.
“Are you ready to hear the specials?”
“Are we?” Jax arches an eyebrow, his eyes gleaming with delight. He’s not the slight bit embarrassed, but knows I am and is quite enjoying himself.
“Yes. Please.” I give him the evil eye and force my full attention back to the waiter. The entire time the waiter talks about the specials I feel Jax’s eyes burning into me.
“I’ll give you a moment to let you decide.” Graciously, the waiter excuses himself.
“Why did you do that?” I scold, my voice low.
“Do what?” He leans back in his seat, crossing his arms over his thick chest.
“You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
“Do I?”
“You enjoy watching me flustered, don’t you?”
Jax arches both eyebrows. Bad choice of words.
“You know what I mean.”
Leaning in, his voice gritty and sexy, he looks me straight in the eyes when he speaks. “I love watching you. Period. But what I like best is watching you pretend you’re unaffected. It’s like an unspoken challenge.” He pauses and leans in even closer. “I love the pink that creeps up your cheeks when I say something dirty. The way your pussy throbs when I mention what I’m going to do to you later, and you wiggle in your seat trying to control it. So yeah, I guess I do like watching you flustered. You sit and give your attention to the waiter, trying to pretend you’re listening to whatever he’s saying instead of thinking of me feeding you my cock later, but we both know you didn’t hear one word he said. Hell I didn’t hear one word watching you, just knowing what you were thinking about.”
This time, I see the waiter before he’s close enough to hear us. He smiles as he reaches our table. “So what can I get for you this evening? Did I interest you in one of our specials?”
I look at the waiter, then Jax, who arches an eyebrow with a knowing smirk on his face, then back to the waiter. “The specials all sounded delicious. I just can’t decide for myself. I’m going to defer to my date to pick one for me.” I return my eyes to Jax with a cheeky grin.
He throws his head back with a chuckle and looks at the poor confused waiter. “We’ll take whatever two are your favorites. Surprise us.”

Tillie Cole is a very gifted writer and this story is fascinating, heartbreaking, beautiful, funny, tender and wonderfully written. This is not exactly your typical jock-meets-Goth-girl story, it is much richer and more nuanced than that, and I really recommend you give this book a try.

You do not need to have read the other books in the series (I did not but I plan to read them now) to follow Lexi and Austin’s story. Austin is the star player on the University of Alabama’s football team, and Lexi is part of the cheerleading squad. But he is also a tattooed, former gang member struggling to break free from his past. She, too, has her own painful struggles that are handled with incredible sensitivity and care by Tillie Cole.

There were many times during this book that I was afraid something terrible would happen to Austin or Lexi, and I read the story with my heart pounding. Austin is a beautiful boy inside and out and showed great compassion and caring for others, all hidden beneath his tattooed, tough-guy exterior. Lexi struggles to keep it together, even as all others see is an offbeat but talented cheerleader on a very tough college squad.

Sweet Fall is very much about not judging a book by its cover and not expecting others to conform to your idea of of “perfect”. Acceptance, of both yourself and of others, is the message I took from this story and I applaud the author for writing about a very difficult and painful subject. I highly recommend Sweet Fall and I can guarantee you will fall in love with Austin Carillo!

It took me less than two minutes to see movement from behind the Denny Chimes, the large tower in the quad, protected by the shade of trees. A tweaking-looking kid scurried past me, stuffing a small white packet into his cargo shorts. I kept my head down so he wouldn’t recognize me, but I saw what he’d just bought.
Coke.
Fuckin’ cocaine.
Coke on campus… Fuck! Coach had been right.
“Austin, there you are, man. I was thinking you weren’t gonna show.”
I flew forward, ready to tear my eldest brother a new asshole, when I caught someone walking out from the shadows.
My heart skipped a motherfucking beat.
No.

Levi.
“Hey, Austin!” Levi said, waving, and my stomach rolled to the point I felt sick. My baby brother came strutting forward, jeans and T-shirt too big for his teenage body and all the pockets weighed down with perfectly measured packets of snow. He was fairer than me and Axel, who, quite frankly, could pass for my twin. Levi was our baby brother… the damned innocent one. The one who still had a chance stay clear of the wrong side of the law.
I knew he was working with the crew, of course. We all did as kids, but it was doing things like being a lookout back at the trailer park or counting out cash and collecting packages, but no fucker had mentioned he’d started dealing.
I flicked my chin in greeting and, pulling him to my chest, met Axel’s eyes over his shoulder. Axel’s face dropped and he turned away. He knew I was pissed, but, knowing Axel, he didn’t give a shit.
“Done good tonight, bro. Nearly got enough for Mamma’s next treatment,” Levi said, pride lacing his voice as he pulled back to look at me.
Closing my eyes, I took a long, deep breath.
“Austin?” Levi questioned, and I felt his eyes focused on me. “You good?”
Opening my eyes, I pulled him close by gripping his two-sizes-too-big shirt. “When did you start dealing with the crew?” I hissed out, and Levi took a huge fuckin’ gulp, the blood draining from his face.
Levi’s gray eyes darted back to Axel, who was walking toward another group of guys heading in our direction. Great. More frat boys looking for a fix, a fix from my fuckin’ doppelganger… at my school!
Yanking Levi back, I placed us behind the protection of a tree, way outta sight. I couldn’t be seen dealing or even be associated with dealers, or my scholarship would be revoked on the spot. The dean was already suspicious. Hell, he never even wanted me in his school. It was Coach’s persistence and Rome Prince’s demands that had him caving in. He’d never wanted the boy with the rap sheet from the trailer park on the wrong side of the tracks.
This shit would play right into his hands.
Checking that we were hidden, I shook Levi, who was busy staring at the ground, by the collar. “Levi! When the hell did you get recruited to deal coke?” I hissed.
“‘Bout a month ago,” he admitted reluctantly.
“A month,” I stated in disbelief.
A goddamn fuckin’ month.
He nodded, and I gripped his head in my hands. “Fuck, Levi. Why? I told you never to go down that road. Do easy shit for the crew, that’s fine. But not this! You’re a born wide receiver like me, but you gotta get your grades, focus on school to get in here at UA. The crew, Lev, the motherfuckin’ crew! Gio won’t ever let you leave. Ain’t no way we’re both getting out!”
Levi pulled back and rested his back against the tree, arms folded over his chest in defiance, a scowl firmly on his face. “Mamma’s getting worse, Aust. Medicare ain’t cutting it no more. We wanna keep her pain free, we need to pay for it. She needs a frame all the time now too. She hasn’t left the trailer in weeks. Can’t walk without shaking and falling to a heap on the floor.”
Levi’s eyes filled with tears, and my throat clogged up tight at the sight. The kid was fourteen. four-fuckin’-teen. He shouldn’t be concerning himself with paying for medical bills, selling drugs, or taking care of Mamma.
“And why the fuck has this been hidden from me?” I asked through gritted teeth, my jaw aching from the pressure.
Levi dropped his head. “Mamma never wanted you to know. Said you had enough to worry about. And I knew you wouldn’t approve of me being in with the Heighters.”
And hell if that didn’t make me feel like shit.

Hopeful is book 2 in a series but it can definitely be read as a standalone. Ava and Joel connect in university. Although they have the same group of friends, they had never really hung out together. Everyday library sessions turn into them falling for each other, but Ava has issues of “going public”. Something happens that makes Joel leave and they don’t talk or see each other again eight years.

This story is written with the use of flashbacks. Although I am usually not a huge fan of a book with so much flipping back and forth between past and present, I absolutely loved Joel as well as the supporting characters of Daniel and Leah. I certainly would love to read more about them! I also enjoyed the author’s writing style.

Ava in the present was a little aggravating and I don’t want to spoil anything other than to say that she had lots of insecurities which kept her from really having what she truly wanted. All in all, this was a very captivating story and I am looking forward to reading more from Louise Bay.

LOVE Nix!! I read a lot of biker books so I was totally surprised when I finished Incandescent and loved it! Kadence is a schoolteacher and never expects to fall for the oh-so-hot Nix who is the parent of one of her students. He is a bad-ass biker with a heart of gold, trying his best to parent his son Z with a no-good ex-wife who is always causing problems.

Kadence has dealt with a lot of past pain (both physical and emotional) and the last thing she expects is to fall for Nix. But the man is persistent and can’t stay away from the sexy teacher.

“I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind, woman. Your attitude, your body, from the moment I had you on the back of my bike, I knew I was in trouble. You feel it too, Kadence. I know you do. Stop denyin’ it.”

These two have tons of chemistry but there are some obstacles in their way. For one thing, Nix is the parent of Kadence’s student, and the school has a no-dating policy between parents and teachers. Add to that one crazy ex-wife, and an even crazier (and more dangerous) ex of Kadence’s and you have lots of fast-paced drama and totally HOT sexy times. This book takes dirty-talking to a new level, and River Savage has quite the talent at writing absolutely SIZZLING sex scenes!

This is a fast-paced, hot biker romance with a lot of heart. I loved Kadence and Nix and adored how Nix got Kadence to open up to him.

“I want this man. Want everything he was doing to me, and then more.”

River Savage is an incredibly talented writer and I look forward to reading the next books in this series!

Resting the cold beer between my legs to

Through the haze of sleep, I felt hands on me. Cold and rough. I thought for a fleeting moment that it might have been Kyle. Then, I remembered our break up. It had happened weeks ago, but maybe that part was the dream. My memory was fucked and I couldn’t latch onto a thought long enough to ride it out of the fog. Too many hands. They groped and pulled—rough against my skin and digging into muscle and bone. I tried to retreat, my back pressed into a hard surface beneath me, and my nostrils filled with the smell of musk and damp stale air. I had no idea where I was, or how I’d gotten there. I kicked and gasped, trying to get back to the surface where reality lurked, shimmering in the distance, but just out of reach, like the sun on the surface of the water during a dive. A hand latched onto my hair and held my head back. My eyelids were finally freed from the sticky muck that held me in semi-consciousness, and I opened them to find myself staring up into unfamiliar green eyes. I only held his gaze for a few seconds—if that—but it seemed like it lasted for hours as my brain fought to categorize the details. Its useless attempt to understand what was going on. The man clutching my hair had vivid green eyes, but they may as well have been black given the emotionless void they displayed. His hair was shaggy, brown with a mix of grey, the same colors that stood out in his unkempt stubble. As if he needed any help looking rough. He exhaled and his breath settled over my face, reeking of booze and cigarettes. The smell made me queasy, but I didn’t have time to dwell on that, as another set of hands tugged at my jeans. My gaze traveled around the room, taking in the small crowd. At least half a dozen men surrounded the table where they had me spread out like a holiday feast. All dressed differently, from ragged tank tops to well-fitting dark button-down shirts, but they all projected an air of unchecked danger. Necks marked with tattoos, hands covered in callouses and scars. Scruffy faces accented their sneers and smirks, as they stood above me staring down with eyes starved of humanity and full of lust. Apparently, they didn’t expect me to put up a fight, because aside from the hand tangled in my hair, no one seemed concerned with keeping a tight grip on me. Probably because they outnumbered me, and I assumed they would have no problem beating the crap out of me as I struggled. They’d downright enjoy it. Unfortunately, I didn’t fully consider how that scenario would play out. I bucked and managed to knee the one pulling on my waistband in the face. He grunted, but I can’t imagine I inflicted as much pain as his retaliatory blow to my ribs. I sucked in air and rolled, curling around the injury and gasping for each painful breath as the sickening throb exacerbated my confusion.

I am not easily shocked but this book made me very uncomfortable because it goes to some really dark places — non-con, human trafficking, punishments — but the writing is very good and I was drawn deeper and deeper into the story as I read.

What began as a disturbing story of a young woman being taken against her will, turned into a rather hopeful (dare I say?) story which left me wanting more of these characters. I read a lot of dark erotica, and I almost gave up on this book because at first I felt disoriented, like I had been suddenly thrust into a world that I knew nothing about. But I am so glad I kept reading, this is a vivid, explicit story that was engrossing from beginning to end.

Irrevocable kept me guessing until the very end. I loved the main characters of Silver and Kirk and I would love to read more about them. Silver is really kick-ass and is actually a very strong female character despite her rather dire circumstances.

If you are a fan of dark romance, then this book is for you. Don’t read this if you are offended by non-consensual sex and torture. But Irrevocable is a challenging read, and for me, an enjoyable story by an author whose books I have never read before. I am a fan now and can’t wait to dive into Skye’s other stories.

AUTHOR BIO

I’ve been coming up with stories for as long as I can remember, and in elementary school I began writing them all down. Ghosts and vampires, have always been my favorite beings to write about. Maybe it was growing up with a grandma who always told me about how she’d always rush home to watch Dark Shadows, and growing up reading and watching anything paranormal that I could find.

My debut, Fractured Legacy (Paranormal Urban Fantasy novella), was released on October 22, 2013, and the sequel Beyond the Divide is currently in progress and expected to release in early 2014.

I am also taking a departure from the paranormal world with a BDSM Romance, Bound and Unbroken, which will also be released in early 2014. I go where my characters lead me, and Eric and Lena decided that I needed a definite break from the paranormal.

When I’m not spending time with the voices in my head, I work in business consulting and hang out with my husband and all of our furry family members.

I LOVE Rum, but that’s probably not a secret.

I love sexy cars more than I love rum. My top picks would be a ’65 Mustang, practically any Bugatti Veyron, or an Aston Martin Vanquish.

I once based a character in a story on my husband, and the character died.

I’ve never met some of my closest friends in person–some of them live on the other side of the world.

My Review

Trust is a wonderful, very satisfying conclusion to a beautifully written, deeply felt series. I highly recommend this fantastic series, all about terrible trauma, healing, and yes, some great d/s scenes. I love Stephan, he is one of my favorite Dom characters. The author really left us reeling at the end of Book 3, Truth, and I couldn’t wait to find out how Brianna would manage her life going forward after the end of that book.

You really need to read the the first three books in this series, ‘Slave’,’ Need’ and ‘Truth’. Sherri Hayes takes Brianna on an incredibly emotional journey from slavery to becoming a surprisingly strong character. There is nothing that happens quickly in these books, nothing rushed; instead the author creates the deep emotional bonds between Stephan and Bianna slowly, and with the support of a great cast of supporting characters.

My favorite parts of the book are when Stephan and Brianna are together. Their scenes together are at once very tender and scorching hot. The author also takes great care to explain the differences between BDSM and abuse, which can be a very fine line but which is explored in this series with sensitivity and great writing. Stephan is very loving and caring, and his character balances out some of the darker parts of the story. All in all, this is a very powerful series, expertly written and providing plenty of steam and emotional connection between the main characters. I loved the conclusion to Brianna and Stephan’s journey and I’m only sad because I have reached the end of their story!

I started reading this book without knowing very much at all about the series. The author immediately drew me in with Mia and Schooner’s story, and I stayed up most of the night reading Books 1 and 2! And I immediately downloaded Book 3 because I can’t wait to read their conclusion.

This is a beautifully written story of love lost, love found and second chances, helped along by the power of social media, which did not exist when our Mia and Schooner graduated from college. Schooner is the gorgeous, WASP-y star tennis player, who feels valued only because of his All American good looks. He has the perfect girlfriend, but he doesn’t really feel the connection with her that he feels for the fiery, opinionated Mia, who he feels really loves him for himself and not for his looks or wealth.

“Schooner kept everyone happy. Schooner Moore had no f’ing idea who he really was.”

They love each other but circumstances lead to them breaking up very painfully while in college. Fast forward years later, and Schooner has found her again, the girl he has not stopped thinking about for over 20 years. I don’t want to give a detailed plot description, because this book should be enjoyed without knowing what’s going to happen. I loved all of the characters in this book but be warned, you will need to second book handy to jump right in so you can continue Mia and Schooner’s story.

Julie Richman is a wonderfully talented writer and this book is a rich story filled with well-written characters, heartbreak, triumph and some really hot sex scenes.

4 1/2 stars!!

I loved this book even more than the first because Julie Richman’s writing is even deeper and more detailed. Moore to Lose was totally unexpected and filled with characters that are essential to Mia’s growth as a person. It is not easy to tell a story in flashbacks, and with alternating POV’s, but the author did a great job.

Mia is somewhat of a lost soul and there are a few situations that are a little painful to read. Mia becomes reckless in her search for true love that will replace the emptiness she still feels after losing Schooner. But there are some beautiful scenes on Book Two and all intertwines with her reunion with Schooner, and her sometimes-difficult relationship with Schooner’s two children that he has from his marriage to CJ. There is lots of graphic sex in Moore to Lose (which I loved) and an ending that will leave to desperate for “more” (pun intended).

This was not really a story that was focused on Schooner and Mia but was more about Mia’s journey and relationships during their years apart. I thought this would be a story about the two as a couple but it was primarily Mia’s story during their two decades apart.

I admit I was incredibly frustrated with both Mia and Schooner at times during this book but I loved the fast-paced storyline and flawed characters that Mia meets during her time apart from Schooner. I love Julie Richman’s writing and I’ve already started Book 3!

MOORE THAN FOREVER
(Needing Moore Series, Book 3)

My Review:

I love Michelle’s writing and this book does not disappoint. Gorgeous, tortured hero? Check. Beautiful, wounded heroine? Check. Add a lot of heat and a great story and you have a delicious book that can read in one sitting.

Reese seems like a hardened SOB but he has been molded into a certain persona by his father. He never forgot Kennedy, the sweet and beautiful girl he loved when he was a teen. Their paths cross again when she is a dancer in one of his high-end clubs. She, too, loved a Reese, but put him in her past, and struggles with her feelings towards Reese because he basically abandoned her without a word years before.

This book is a great mix of totally hot sex scenes and a twisty story. It has a very satisfying conclusion, and characters that will stay with you after you finish. I love the alternating points of view and it gave me empathy towards Reese. This book is part of a series but can absolutely be read as a standalone. All the Pretty Poses is a great book to grab when you want a sexy, romantic story that you can read without putting down! Enjoy!

I also love the writing of both authors and they really deliver a hot, lust-filled and erotic story in this installment of the series. Technically the book could be read as a standalone, but you would then miss out on the lovely development of the sexy, tender and hot relationship between Tristan and Jared. In Payoff, Tristan and Jared finally reveal their true feelings for each other, learning to navigate their way through the sometimes treacherous waters of working as rentboys.
This is a totally hot, quick read that will leave you needing a cold shower. I love M/M books written or co-written by a male author because I feel it lends some grittiness to the story. I get everything I need in the Market Garden books! Another satisfying read from L.A. Witt and Aleksandr Voinov.

My Review:

Hardpressed is the second book in the Hacker Series and is a fast-paced, sexy, and thrilling read! I was pleasantly surprised by this series and loved the inventive plot.

Erica is smart but vulnerable and I loved the fact that she started her own business. Although we also have a super-sexy hero, Blake is different from the usual billionaire bad boys. Yes, he’s domineering and controlling, but this story has so much more to it than the hot-as-hell chemistry between Erica and Blake.

Erica is trying to build her business while fighting demons from her past. She wants to do things on her own but Blake is compelled to try and assist her both with her business, but with other external forces that threaten both of them, both personally and on a professional level. The steam factor is high and the sex scenes between Blake and Erica are HOT.

This book is very well-written, and also has a great cast of supporting characters. I hope that Blake’s brother and Erica’s best friend get their own story! The story doesn’t exactly end on a cliffhanger, but the drama is definitely left open for the third installment in the series, Hardline. This is a very fresh, sexy, well-written, and enjoyable series so far.
