Title: Blood Mate
Author: Kitty Thomas
Release Date: January 29, 2014
Warning: Blood Mate is a story about love, betrayal, redemption, sacrifice, and sanity. This is a dark emotional/psychological journey. This is not a vampire romance or vampire erotica. It is a dark fairy tale. This work steps a little outside what the author typically writes, but still contains many of the psychological and mindf**k elements her readers have come to enjoy.
Blood Mate, a dark fairy tale…
Nicole has been happily married to big shot attorney, Dominic Rose for ten years, but soon after their anniversary he grows cold–as if she doesn’t exist. Meanwhile, another man has been pursuing her far too intently for comfort.
August Corinth is a six-hundred-year-old vampire, cursed to kill and suffer the pain of his victims each night until he can find the one woman who can resist his thrall, his blood mate. Once he’s found her, there are no lines he won’t cross to claim the promised salvation even if it means taking away everything and everyone she loves.
This is a work of fiction, and the author does not endorse or condone any of this book’s content in a real world setting. This work is intended for an emotionally mature, adult audience.
Kitty Thomas is my go-to author for dark erotica so I was excited to read her new release. Blood Mate is a FAIRY TALE, not really an erotic romance in any way, and is another intense story from Kitty Thomas. I don’t normally read this genre of books but I absolutely loved the writing and the characters and am so glad I had the opportunity to read this book.
August is a very powerful vampire who is cursed to forever take human victims on order to ensure his own survival. He was a good man in his former life and he desperately wants to break his curse. To do this, he must find his “blood mate”, a woman whom he cannot “enthrall” or control via her mind, and who will stay with him throughout eternity.
August finds Nicole, who is actually very happily married. Through a series of twists and turns, August creates a situation where Nicole will become his blood mate, but she doesn’t give in so easily, and is a very strong and feisty heroine. August is torn by his actions but he absolutely must ensure his own survival.
Only Kitty Thomas could create a cast of strong characters like those in Blood Lust and an fantastically creative story that will keep you guessing until the very end.
If you want to step outside your usual genre of books, I highly recommend this dark and sensual tale. You will not be disappointed.

About the Author:
Kitty Thomas writes dark literary erotica that explores power dynamics and sexuality. This work is fiction and meant for an adult audience. The author does not endorse or condone any of the behavior carried out by characters in her stories.
Her work is not “erotic romance”. Often on some level it is about love and/or obsession. Often the couple in some way ends up “together”, but the work should not be expected to follow the conventions of any type of genre romance, erotic or otherwise. If you are looking for genre romance (erotic or otherwise), please read a different author. Erotic romance is “more explicit romance”. This is something different.
Inspiration for Kitty’s work comes from many sources including Story of O, Nine and a Half Weeks, and the work of Claudia D. Christian.
