A fallen boxer. A woman with a broken dream. A competition… He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting… Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life. He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . . But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me. I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations. If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?
INTERVIEW WITH KATY EVANS
1. What inspired you to write Real?
Remy. He appeared to me as a blue-eyed cocky Underground fighter battling his own inner demons, and from the moment he materialized in my mind, he grabbed me and wouldn’t let go, so I just had to sit down to write his story.
2. How did you come up with the title?
He just sort of came with it. Since the first pages of the book, I knew it would be called REAL, for it has to do with what Remington most wants and what he quietly, secretly fights for.
3. Are the experiences in REAL based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
It’s a book that came straight from my heart, so it deals with a lot of issues I feel passionately about. Nothing I directly experienced, but many things I have indirectly watched and learned from. From the moment I began writing, I kept writing nonstop for 21 days, breathing Real, eating Real, sleeping Real and living Real. What most readers experience when they pick up Real and can’t put it down, I felt the same and could not leave the computer.
4. What books have most influenced your life?
I think books in general have influenced my life greatly. Good books made me want to write, but it also took a bad book to give me the courage to sit down and try. So books of all shapes and sizes have really shaped my desire to keep on reading and losing myself in these amazing worlds, as well as write my own stories.
5. Your fans feel an amazing personal connection to you and to Remy! Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Thank you all so much! For taking the time out of your lives to spend your time with my words, I can’t wait to share more with you soon. Thanks, also, for your beautiful notes, tweets, private messages, for recommending Real to your friends and family, and for opening your hearts and mind to it like I did. 🙂 Thank you also to Book Bellas! Who have been with me from the start, I can’t tell you what it means to me. Thank you!
