Review:
“Remington Tate is everything I’ve never, ever done…”
Not sure why I decided to give this new author a try, but I am so glad I did! I immediately fell in love with both Brooke and Remy. Real is a great debut novel from Katy Evans. Remington “Riptide” Tate will steal your heart right from the beginning. He is a brute of a man, an athlete, competitor and superstar underground fighter with a huge following. He desperately wants Brooke Dumas to see him for the real person that he is, serious problems and all. Brooke has her own issues, but really knows and understands the thrill of sports competition.
“He wants to be my real, not my adventure.”
Remy and Brooke’s attraction is instant but its a slow burn leading up to the first time they get together:
“My panties are soaked, and my pulse has gone haywire. I’ve never
condoned violence. This isn’t me, and I blink in stupefaction at the
sensations whipping through my system. Lust, pure white-hot lust,
flutters through my nerve endings.”
I don’t want to give away any spoilers so I will just say that this story has a great twist that hooked me in right from the beginning. I read this book quickly but at the same time did not want it to end. Loved the Epilogue and hope to see more of these characters from Ms. Evans.
“And I’d give up forever to touch you…
Cause I know that you feel me somehow…
You’re the closest to heaven that I’ve ever been and I don’t want to
go home right now.I want you to know who I am.“
Thank you, Ms. Evans, for introducing us to Remy. Can’t wait for more.
