About the Book:
From USA Today bestselling author Rochelle B. Weinstein comes a moving novel of hearts lost and found, and of one woman torn between two love stories.
When Charlotte and Philip meet, the pair form a deep and instant connection. Soon they’re settled in the Florida Keys with plans to marry. But just as they should be getting closer, Charlotte feels Philip slipping away.
Second-guessing their love is something Charlotte never imagined, but with Philip’s excessive absences, she finds herself yearning for more. When she meets Ben, she ignores the pull, but the supportive single dad is there for her in ways she never knew she desired. Soon Charlotte finds herself torn between the love she thought she wanted and the one she knows she needs.
As a hurricane passes through Islamorada, stunning revelations challenge Charlotte’s loyalties and upend her life. Forced to reexamine the choices she’s made, and has yet to make, Charlotte embarks on an emotional journey of friendship, love, and sacrifice—knowing that forgiveness is a gift, and the best-laid plans can change in a heartbeat.
This Is Not How It Ends is a tender, moving story of heartbreak and healing that asks the question: Which takes more courage—holding on or letting go?
My Review:
I loved this emotional romance from a new-to-me author!! Highly recommend.
I kept hearing about this book on Goodreads and Instagram so I picked up a copy from Amazon and was immediately drawn in! Charlotte and Phillip are from two different worlds but meet on an airplane and fall almost instantly in love. This very adult story had me from the beginning with its setting in the Florida Keys. This author lives in South Florida and I was thrilled to read about some of my favorite spots in the Keys.
From the beginning it is clear that Charlotte will face some very difficult choices in her life. Even though Charlotte and Philip met by chance and fell very much much in love, Ben is now in the picture and makes a deep connection with Charlotte. Was Charlotte meant to be with Phillip or will her deepening friendship with Ben change all of that?
“I’ve heard it said that life is about choices. Paths stretch out ahead of us—sometimes, we make conscious decisions and other times, fate intervenes and chooses for us.”
This was a throughly enjoyable, very well-written story that had me invested in the main characters from the first page. I loved Ben and but I also loved Phillip and felt that Charlotte would do the right thing no matter what. I don’t know how I didn’t know about this author before this book! If you are looking for an adult romance set in an exotic locale but with very believable and relatable characters, then you’ll love this story. I am a new fan of Rochelle Weinstein and am looking forward to reading her other books. And the cover!! A winner all around.
