have been born. A monster. To twelve year-old Evie Hart, he was just a boy with golden hair, soft t-shirts
and a camera. A boy who loved taking her picture and sneaking her chocolates
before dinner. A boy who made her feel special.Despite her family’s warnings, she loved him in secret for six years. They met
in empty classrooms and kissed in darkened church closets. Until they couldn’t.
Until the time came to choose between love and family, and Evie chose Abel.
Because their love was worth the risk. Their love was the stuff of legend.
But the thing about legends is that they are cautionary tales. They are made of
choices and mistakes. And for Abel and Evie, the artist and the muse, those
mistakes come in the form of lights, camera, sex.
NOTE: This is NOT a paranormal or a priest romance.
“This is how boys with golden hair and angry expressions crash into your life. This is how stars collide and worlds are made. This is how all the love stories start.”
WOW not what I expected at all! I LOVE this author but this story blindsided me. I had some issues with the characters but I think you’ll like this one if you’re looking for a sexy read that’s on the edgier, dark side.
Abel and Evie’s story is raw, unfiltered and simply cannot be stopped. This began as a small-town story which I love. Evie is very sheltered and grows up in an ultra-strict and extremely religious home. She has an innocence and purity about her that attracts Abel, the new boy in town with a very, very dark past.
Abel and Evie fell in love but they had to hide their relationship from everyone. Evie’s mother especially was borderline abusive to her so it was no surprise when Evie agreed to run away with Abel when she was only 17 years old. While others may have looked down on Abel, Evie only saw his intelligence, protectiveness and sensitivity.
The story took an abrupt turn for me after Abel and Evie leave town. I will say that I was surprised, based on Evie’s upbringing, that she agreed to certain things but it certainly made for an unexpected twist!
I absolutely loved ‘The Unrequited’ and ‘A War Like Ours’. And this book has sex scenes that are really off-the-charts. Plus I could not put it down because I could not wait to see what on earth was going to happen next for Abel and Evie. They had a love for each other that was almost bordering on obsession but yet I could not look away! This particular story just did not have “it” for me but I certainly read anything Saffron Kent writes. She is incredibly talented and i look forward to seeing what comes next.
“Loving Abel Adams might be the purest and truest thing I’ll ever do.”
of bad romances. Aspiring Lana Del Rey of the Book World. Saffron is a big believer in love (obviously). She believes in happily ever
after, the butterflies and the tingling. But she also believes in edgy, rough
and gutsy kind of love. She believes in pushing the boundaries, darker
(sometimes morally ambiguous) emotions and imperfections. The kind of love she writes about is flawed just like her characters. And she
hopes by the end of it, you’ll come to root for them just as much as she does.
