The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting…

My Review:
“You’re so full of yourself, you’ve already decided you’re going to break my heart. Did you ever stop to think maybe it’s me who will break your heart someday?”
WOW!!!! I fell in love with Vi Keeland’s writing with “Worth the Fight’ a few years ago, and ‘Beautiful Mistake’ highlights the BEST of her talents!! Sexxxxy romance, relatable characters, a great story…and a twist that I never saw coming.
I have read so many student/teacher stories lately but this book is SO much more!! Caine is a music professor and Rachel is his graduate student Teaching Assistant. I absolutely loved the them of music that ran through the book. How does music make you feel? What memories does music bring back for the listener? But this story is much more than the taboo relationship between Caine and Rachel. Both have secrets that are very slowly revealed through the book. How will those secrets affect their relationship?
Rachel has had a tough life and she is one feisty character! Funny. beautiful, kind and loving, she has made her share of mistakes but can’t resist Caine’s sex appeal. The dialogue is smart, light where it needs to be and the supporting characters are perfect.
“Calm down in there. He isn’t inviting you to a romantic dinner. He only wants you to help with his nieces. Put on a diaper, not take off your clothes.”
I was surprised by the depth and emotion in this story. Rachel and Caine’s story will stay with me for a long time. Bravo, Ms. Keeland. Highly recommend ‘Beautiful Mistake’!!
